Smile Gallery: Smile Makeover
At the Melbourne Smile Clinic, we aim to have a minimally invasive and conservative approach to treatment. This means that we try to minimise the need to drill into teeth, especially if the teeth are intact and decay-free to start with
Before treatment, this patient had a crown placed on her left central incisor overseas. The crown was shaped differently from her right central incisor, leading to an uneven and asymmetric smile. The patient was also unhappy with her prominent and crooked lateral incisors and lower teeth.
Invisalign clear aligners were used first to straighten the teeth into a more harmonious arch. ...
This is a case where replacing 2 old veneers on the central incisors lead to a sufficiently satisfactory aesthetic improvement for the patient. This patient had veneers on all their front teeth and they were unhappy with only the 2 central ones as they were cracked and stained.
As long as our patient's needs are met, we did not think it necessary in this case to replace the veneers on all the front teeth which would have been more complex and costly. The old veneers were replaced with new ceramic ones to match the existing veneers on the other teeth.

Broken down and decayed teeth have been either restored or replaced. Restoring decayed teeth is possible if the decay is not too advanced. Broken down teeth which cannot be repaired have been extracted and replaced with implants to rebuild this patient's smile.
These chipped and discoloured front teeth were restored to a natural and aesthetic state with a combination of ceramic veneers and crowns. Old fillings were replaced first to ensure the teeth were free of decay and gingival health was addressed with improved hygiene.
The two front upper teeth were chipped as a result of an accident. We used composite resin to rebuild the teeth. Careful shade selection and blending technique allowed us to achieve a seamless result where the resin material cannot be distinguished from the natural enamel. We aim to achieve a natural and cosmetically high standard in all our restorative work.
This fractured central incisor (front tooth) had been repaired several times with composite resin but kept breaking. It was finally decided to place a ceramic crown over the tooth. A good shade match was achieved and this crown will last much longer than a composite resin buildup. Furthermore, the ceramic will not discolor or dull over time.
